Lifeboat crew spent seven hours helping a fishing boat which had engine trouble overnight.
The fishing boat, which had three people onboard, got into difficulty around 9pm last night off the Scottish side of the Solway, five miles south of Burrow Head.
Workington's lifeboat, Dorothy May White, arrived on scene an hour later and a mechanic and crew member went onboard the 25ft fast fishing boat, Osprey, and managed to get it restarted.
However, after a short while the boat's engine stopped and a decision was made to tow the vessel back 26 miles back to Whitehaven, where it is berthed.
They got into at Whitehaven at 2.30am, with all crew safe and well, and Workington's lifeboat arrived back at station at 3.15am.
Coxswain John Stobbart attended the callout, along with six crew.
