Copeland MP Trudy Harrison has been assured by rail chiefs that more train services are planned through West Cumbria as part of timetable changes being introduced on Sunday.
Mrs Harrison met with rail minister Andrew Jones and Northern Rail regional director Chris Jackson ahead of Northern's timetable changes.
She said: “We experienced increased services, including the first Sunday service last May - but also unprecedented delays and cancellation problems.
“I am assured that this time, Northern are fully prepared and we will see even more services on our Cumbrian coastal route.”
Northern say the May changes will add new journey opportunities, new routes and services as well as strengthened links with other regions.
