Lamplugh School pupils have enjoyed learning about Easter by having a week of Easter themed events.

Worship all week concentrated on Easter with plenty of discussion, questions, interaction and lots of fun.

Children enjoyed hearing about Easter themed stories with the nursery group gripped by Peppa's Easter Egg Hunt as their story of the week.

KS1 and KS2 made Easter cards and also practiced their ICT skills using paint and word to create Easter pictures and posters.

Reverend Ian Parker, vicar for Lamplugh parish, came in to school to lead an Easter service which was attended by staff, children and their families last Thursday, then the children got crafty by making Easter gardens.

Senior teaching assistant Helen Shore said: "It was a really pleasant afternoon, enjoyed by all. It’s always lovely to invite the children’s families to join us and celebrate special events with us.

"The children were looking forward to it all week, chatting excitedly about who was coming and how they would make their garden! They were delighted to take them home and show them off to others. We all sang hymns and said prayers and children got to listen to and get involved in stories."

Harry Daglish, in year one, said: “It was so much fun, it was all about Easter. I liked making my garden. My nana came and I was glad she came.”

The school has also been busy with other crafts too, one child, Hollie Whitfield, two, decided to make a ‘rabbit garden’. Helen said: "She was so enthusiastic about it, adding bunnies, chicks, flowers, grass and making a game with it with her friends once she’d completed it.

"We’ve also been getting creative decorating eggs and bunnies and producing some beautiful masterpieces! Children had access to many different art and craft resources so they could decorate however they chose to, they had so much fun and took great pride in their end results."
