CHILDREN had a ball at Easter party that was saved at the last minute by an events company.

Around 100 kids came at to the Ultimate Pop Party at Dalton Cricket Club to join in dancing, games and other activities.

Ultimate Events came in at the last minute to host the event after the previous entertainment had to cancel.

It left the organisers with a week to plan new activities, which included a disco as well as games, glitter tattoos, characters and prizes.

Denis Horan Jr, director of Ultimate Events said he was pleased by how the Easter event went.

He said: "We had to come in and last minute and managed to put something on for the children."

Mr Horan said he was surprised by the turnout due to the last minute running of the party.

"I was pleased by how many children came along at quite short notice.

"But it not about the money - that will go to the costs of the event.

"It is about making the children and seeing smiles on their faces."

Mr Horan said following the event the cricket club had asked his company to stage two more events this summer.
