A MERCEDES driver has been given a hefty fine after he was caught speeding twice.
Martin Vessey, 48, of Main Street, Egremont, received a fine totalling £497 when he appeared at the magistrates court in Workington on Friday.
The court heard Vessey was caught speeding in Cleator on St Mary Church Road on July 26 and again on the A66 at Kirkby Thore on August 29 of last year.
As well as the fine, his licence was endorsed with four points and Vessey was ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 surcharge to find victim services.
