A PICTURE presentation on the work of Barrow father-and-son photographers Edward and Raymond Sankey looks to have raised £1,000 for the work of St Mary's Hospice at Ulverston.
The sell-out talk by Barrow's Geoff Holme attracted around 150 people to Greenodd Village Hall for an event promoted by Egton-cum-Newland WI.
Signal Films also provided a film made on progress with a project to secure National Lottery funding to digitise and study the 15,000 negatives and postcards produced by the Barrow-based Sankey firm from the 1890s to the 1970s.
The firm took pictures from the of everything from ship launches to parades.
Postcards were also produced of royal visits and views of factories, theatres, streets, or tourist destinations.
