A politician has been booted off Copeland Council for non-attendance.
John Dirom, of Rheda Close, Frizington, has been disqualified from the council after failing to attend a council or committee meeting for six months.
A spokesman for the council said: "His last recorded attendance was on October 9, 2018.
"Mr Dirom was sent a letter on March 6, 2019, to advise that his further non-attendance would result in disqualification.
"Mr Dirom’s disqualification is in accordance with Section 85 of the Local Government Act 1972.
"Due to the close proximity of the next borough council elections on May 2, 2019, there will not be a by-election for the vacant seat."
