Cumbria police are investigating the incident, which happened on Monday, April 8 at about 9.10pm.
The damage happened on Main Street in the village.
Officers from the force are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information about what happened to come forward.
They can call officer on 101 or email 101@cumbria.police.uk, referring to incident 103 of April 11.
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers with information on 0800 555 111.
