CUSTOMERS have been served up a fresh new look after Harraby's Co-op store reopened following a £600,000 overhaul.

The shop, which closed on March 12 for the refit, opened its doors to shoppers on Thursday morning.

Along with a fresh new look, the convenience store will offer a range of fresh fruit and vegetables, healthy foods, meal ideas, wines, and more, along with an in-store bakery.

Pupils from nearby Inglewood Infants School were given the honour to cut the ribbon and declare the store reopened.

Store manager Katie Gibson, who has run the branch for three years, said: "The store is brighter and fresher and now has two self service tills instead to make shopping more convenient.

"It was brilliant to be joined by pupils from Inglewood Infants who helped to mark the reopening.

"Thanks to all of our customers for their patience while the improvement works were carried out."

Duncan Maurer, area manager, said: “The Co-op is moving forward with a clear purpose and momentum.

"Our ambition is to ensure the store is a local hub, a real asset for the community.

“We also want shoppers to know that they can become a co-owner and member of their Co-op.

"Our members make a difference locally and simply by swiping their membership card when they shop with us they are raising much needed funding for organisations in their area who contribute to improving local life.”

The store previously had a mini revamp 15 years ago.
