A DRIVER has escaped injury after a crash involving a car and an HGV on the M6.

The crash, which involved a Citroen C1 and HGV, happened on the motorway on Monday afternoon.

A spokesman from Cumbria Police said: "Police were called at about 3.35pm to the report of a two vehicle road traffic collision on the M6 Northbound between junction 44 and 45.

"The driver of the Citroen C1, a woman from Dumfries, was uninjured."
