A woman has been given a suspended prison sentence for "cowardly and savage" Egremont pub attack which left her victim with a facial fracture.
Part of Emma Allan's assault on Lorna Park - her ex-boyfriend's new partner - was captured on CCTV footage played to Carlisle Crown Court today.
Allan, 27, was said to have initially thrown a cigarette butt at Miss Park in the smoking area of Egremont's Wheatsheaf pub before grabbing her hair. As Miss Park fell to the floor, Allan attacked her with a flurry of punches. One eyewitness spoke of "approximately 30 attempted punches".
Miss Park suffered a facial fracture, had "struggled to come to terms" with the assault and been left anxious.
Allan, of Greenmoor Road, Egremont, admitted an actual bodily harm assault and told a judge she was "sorry" for what she did.
A 12-month jail term was suspended for two years. She must complete 120 hours' unpaid work, a four-month night-time curfew, was banned from Egremont pubs for 12 months and prohibited from contacting her victim for five years.
"That's disgraceful behaviour," Judge Davies said of the assault. "It was a sustained attack when she was on the floor, defenceless, and breaking a bone in her face. That's cowardly and savage."
