A new weather warning has been issued, with up to 60mm of rain expected to fall in Cumbria tomorrow.

The Met Office says it could lead to flooding and cause travel disruption.

It has put a yellow warning in place from just after midnight tonight.

It says: "Heavy rain on Tuesday morning may cause some flooding and transport disruption.

"A spell of heavy rain is expected to affect parts of northern England on Monday night before clearing eastward on Tuesday morning. "Falling onto already wet ground, 20-40 mm of rainfall is expected quite widely, with 50-60 mm possible over higher ground in Cumbria."

It warns that buses and trains could be affected, and warns of potentially hazardous conditions on the roads.

The warning will run until lunchtime tomorrow.

It will be followed by further bad weather, with more rain heavy expected on Thursday and Friday.

A separate weather warning runs from just after midnight on Thursday to 10am on Friday.

Again it could lead to flooding and travel disruption, especially is higher areas.
