Snow is causing hazardous driving conditions on the M6 in Cumbria this morning as eight roads remain closed across the county.
A yellow weather warning, issued by the Met Office, remains in place until 10am.
It warns of snow, ice and potentially dangerous driving conditions.
The stretch of the M6 worst affected is around junction 37.
Snow is covering most of the outside lane.
drivers are warned to take extra care and reduce their speed.
Eight roads remain closed in Cumbria as a result of snow.
These are all in higher areas.
The A686 at Hartside Pass, which connects Penrith with Alston, is badly affected.
There is deep snow between the Slaggyford and Gamblesby turn offs.
Whinlatter Pass, Hardknott Pass, Kirkstone Pass, Honister Pass, Newlands Pass and Wrynose Pass and the Corney Fell road are also closed.
