Supermarket giant Tesco says work is in progress to fix heating as quickly as possible at its store in Whitehaven after customers complained about the cold.
The store has apologised to shoppers who were unhappy about the broken heating.
Mavis Rowell, of Whitehaven, a regular shopper at Whitehaven Tesco said: "There's been no heating there for weeks. The girls who work there are all wrapped up. One had a hat on and two had gloves on last week because they were freezing. It's ridiculous.
"When we went in this morning, it felt even colder. I felt so uncomfortable in there this morning I almost abandoned the shop and went to Morrisons. I just feel so sorry for those girls.
"If people are going to abandon their shop because it's too cold, they are going to lose a lot of custom."
A Tesco spokesperson said: “We have had issues with the heating at our Whitehaven store and we’re working to get this fixed as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused”.
