MOTORISTS are expected to hit major delays from Monday as a number of roads close at the same time.
Both St Bees Main Street and the A5086 from Woodend to Clints roundabout in Egremont will be shut while roadworks are carried out.
This will result in heavy traffic along the A595, especially during rush hours.
Both closed routes are popular with Sellafield workers, and the nuclear plant has put out a notice to inform staff as there will be an impact on the road network in West Cumbria.
Sellafield's commuter coaches will be allowed access through roadworks on the A5086, although there may be delays.
There is also a road closure at Brow Top, by Allerdale House in Workington.
And a further one on the A5086 between the Old Posting House pub and Dean junction, with access through the use of temporary traffic lights.
