A pair of shoplifters who stole hundreds of pounds worth of drink from West Cumbrian shops have been jailed.
Kimberley Anne Hodgson, 33, and Paul Joseph Morgan, 39, both of George Street, Whitehaven, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court.
Magistrates heard that, on January 7, the pair stole alcohol worth £190.50 in two batches from Whitehaven's Morrisons supermarket.
This followed offences on December 22 when the pair jointly stole spirits worth £84 from Nisa in Cleator Moor, and Hodgson took similar drink worth £169 from the town's Co-op store.
Both admitted the charges, and failing to surrender to custody at the court on February 8 and February 11.
Hodgson also admitted assaulting a man and resisting a police officer in the execution of her duty, both on December 22.
She was jailed for a total of 120 days and given a criminal behaviour order banning her from any premises within the Workington, Maryport, Whitehaven and Copeland Rural Shop Watch schemes.
She must pay £306.25 compensation and £100 costs.
Morgan was jailed for a total of 90 days and ordered to pay £95.25 compensation, a £115 surcharge and £85 costs.
He is yet to be sentenced for the Cleator Moor shoplifting offence.
