A Whitehaven man has been given a community order by magistrates in West Cumbia.
Gareth Peter McAleavy, 38, of Greenbank Avenue, admitted dishonestly failing to promptly notify the Department for Work and Pensions about a change in circumstances, which affected his right to Universal Credit.
At the North and West Cumbria magistrates court, he was given a 10 week curfew from 7pm to 7am.
He must also pay an £85 surcharge to fund victim services and £85 costs to the court.
