A motorist who stopped his car beside two women, wound down his window and asked directions - but then acted in a sexual manner in front of them.

Daniel Dimov, of High Street, Ecclefechan, was later traced by police and landed before the Sheriff at Dumfries.

He admitted two charges of acting in a sexual manner towards the two women last October.

The court heard that one incident took place as a woman was out walking her two dogs near Middlebie village and the other when he confronted a woman out running near Annan in his Mercedes.

Sheriff George Jamieson described Dimov’s behaviour as deplorable and alarming to the victims.

He was made the subject of a community payback order with conditions he be under supervision for three years and also attend a special sex offenders’ project.

In addition he was placed on the sex offenders’ register for three years.
