MEMBERS of the public, politicians and businesses will today come together to celebrate everything great about Cumbria.

Cumbria Day will see the county’s six MPs bring businesses to the Palace of Westminster, all in an effort to raise the county’s profile. As part of the celebrations, Cumbria Tourism has launched a campaign to get #cumbriaday trending on Twitter.

Hawkshead Relish, based in Tim Farron’s constituency, is set to showcase itsselection of jams, chutneys and pickles.

Barrow companies CM Home Fragrance and Deli.sh, which won a competition launched by MP John Woodcock, will be showcasing their wares.

Charlotte Millis, owner of Barrow-based CM Home Fragrance, said: “I’m over the moon to be heading down to Westminster.

“It’s a huge opportunity for my business with it only being small to showcase all of the hard work that goes into our products, made in Cumbria.”

Caragh McCullough of Deli.sh, said: “Cumbria day is a brilliant opportunity to promote not only our small business but the town of Barrow.

“We are looking forward to getting together with the other businesses from the county to celebrate all the great produce Cumbria has to offer.”
