A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a woman in West Cumbria.
Cumbria police were called to Main Street, Dearham, at 10.15am today, January 22, by North West Ambulance Service after a 69-year-old woman suffered serious injuries. A police spokesman confirmed she had subsequently died.
A 45-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of murder.
He is currently in police custody.
Paramedics and an air ambulance was called to the incident.
Police have taped off the house and officers are standing guard.
The coroner has been informed.
