EGREMONT wrestler Johnny Moss has just broken new ground – being part of the WWE’s new UK performance centre that was opened last week.

The facility is the first of what will be many performance centres outside of the United States, WWE EVP of Talent, Live Events & Creative Paul “Triple H” Levesque said at the opening.

Moss’ role will be to coach the 30 NXT UK wrestlers before every TV taping in the UK but he will still be based at the Orlando Performance Centre, just flying back to the UK for training camps.

“This is the first international performance centre of its kind outside the US and to be a part of it is mind blowing!” said Moss.

“I used to travel 13 hours through the night on buses and trains to learn in a damp old church with a concrete like ring down in Sittingbourne Kent, never in my wildest dreams did I think we’d ever have anything like this in the UK.

“To be coaching alongside World of Sport legends like Johnny Saint and Robbie Brookside, with WWE hall of famer Shawn Michaels on hand is a huge honour.”

At the weekend the first ever live ‘Takeover’ was also held in a sold out Blackpool Winter Gardens, broadcast live to millions on the WWE network.

“The atmosphere was absolutely incredible,” added Moss. “However with WWE there’s never time to sit back relax as we’re flying straight back to Orlando, heading out to California to produce NXT live events.

“Then from there into Phoenix, Arizona to work at the Royal Rumble. Never a dull moment!”
