TWO Cockermouth School pupils will be taking centre stage in the town's annual panto which opens on Saturday.
A cast of 19, aged from eight to 70-plus, and a busy backstage team, will be bringing Snow White and Seven Dwarfs to the Kirkgate Centre.
A Cockermouth Amateur Dramatic Society spokesman said: "CADS break with pantomime tradition in their latest production Snow White by casting a male in the role of principal boy.
"Sam Weakley, 16, plays the hero as the handsome Prince Frederick. He is very happy to be cast playing opposite panto stalwart Morgan Goodfellow who is playing Snow White."
The family show will be staged on January 19 at 2.30pm and 7pm, January 25 at 7pm and January 26 at 2.30pm and 7pm. Tickets are £9 for adults, £8 for concessions or £30 for a family ticket, available from www.kirkgatearts.org.uk or on 01900 826448.
