A Cockermouth bistro which served free dinners on Christmas Day raised £1,200 for a local charity.

Wild Zucchinis, on Station Street, laid on a fabulous three-course meal for 31 guests.

There were lots of donations on the day and also over the festive period, with all the money raised going to Cockermouth First Responders.

Owner Manon Plouffe said: "It was lovely, we had a great mix of people including those who would otherwise have been on their own or were bereaved.

"Everyone enjoyed themselves and our suppliers and lots of people were extremely generous."

Manon worked alongside her husband, Andy, children Saskia and Nathan, staff and volunteers.

This is the fourth year that the bistro has laid on the festive gathering.
