A COCKERMOUTH nursery has launched a breakfast club this week.
Mary Platt Pre-school, on Lorton Street, has been running for more than 50 years.
Manager Sarah Westgarth said: "We wanted to move with the times and provide a better service for working parents.
"Many parents go back to work after having children and it's important to support them.
"This allows parents/carers to benefit from dropping their children off earlier, with the sound knowledge they are being given a healthy breakfast and the best possible start to their day.
"There has been a great response."
Thirty five children attend the nursery which is for children from two years old. The new breakfast club runs from 7.45am until 9am.
The first session proved a big success.
"The children were very excited at the family feel of having breakfast with their friends and the staff," said Sarah.
"The choices - which included toast, cereal and fresh fruit – went down well."
