A man who twice breached an order banning him from Whitehaven shops, and stole from one of them, has been put behind bars.
Lawrence Wilson appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court in Workington and admitted two counts of breaching a criminal behaviour order and one of shoplifting.
The court heard that Wilson, 31, of Queen Street, Whitehaven, had entered Boots in Whitehaven on October 29 last year and stolen cosmetics worth £200.
On January 3 this year Wilson entered the town's Morrisons store, magistrates were told.
On both occasions he was subject to a criminal behaviour order, imposed in November 2016, which banned him from entering the shops without reasonable excuse.
Wilson was given a 240-day jail sentence and ordered to pay £200 compensation and £85 costs.
