Always Another Way, based in Whitehaven, has created a fundraising calendar using models that either use the charities support services, help out in the organisation or wanted to get involved to help raise awareness.

It has been produced with help from Lorna Preston Photography at Cleator Moor.

All proceeds from the calendar will help fund community projects locally including sign language classes, LGBTQ + support and mental health support.

Managing director of Always Another Way, Jo Haigh, said: “We wanted to show that we are more than people think; after all, whatever we are going through, whether we are gay, transgender, a person with mental health issues or a physical disability - whatever we have going on, we are MORE than that. For every difference we are also the same - we are people.”

The idea came from one of the organisation’s young people’s groups, “We were quite impressed - what better way to raise awareness and funding than to bring the conversation to the things we don’t talk about”, Jo added.

“We’re producing the 2019 calendar ourselves; with the help of Lorna Preston photography, who gave up her time and resources to help us out and our amazing models who each help to raise awareness on many things we should be open and honest talking about; from LGBTQ+ to mental health or miscarriage.”

We believe that everyone can achieve with the right support and our community projects support those in the community to do just that.

So far, 40 calendars have been sold and there is 20 more on the way to Scotland.

This is the first time Always Another Way has created a calendar.

They are available for £10 each from Always Another Way, Cumbria Ltd and 24 Wellness Club on the Sneckyeat Industrial Estate, Whitehaven; Solway Hall (Civic Hall), Whitehaven; Sprinkles, Whitehaven and Thornhill Post Office.
