A NEW path has been created in Brigham - making getting to the village play park and school sports field a whole lot easier.
The parish council was delighted to secure a £10,000 United Utilities legacy grant, through Cumbria Community Foundation.
Most of the money was used to pay for the asphalt path which leads from the road at the bottom of Lawson Garth.
Town clerk Donna Holliday said: "People are delighted.
"There was a very muddy, steep stone path before which was not very accessible. People could net get up there with prams.
"This will hopefully mean people can use the play park much more, it will also be much easier for the school to access their big sports field."
The remaining £3,000 will be spent on some new equipment for the play park.
"It's well used and we are hoping to get an accessible roundabout installed," said Mrs Holliday.
"We are waiting for a plan."
