Three Cleator Moor women have climbed Great Gable to raise money for a West Cumbrian charity.

Laura Mackereth, 35, Laura Kelly, 34 and Michelle Frazer, 39, all living in the Cleator Moor area, embarked on the adventure to climb the mountain in November, having never attempted anything like this before.

They successfully climbed Great Gable, an amazing undertaking at 2900 feet, in order to raise money for local mental health support service Together We CIC, based in Workington.

£350 was raised altogether for the not for profit organisation, which provides mental and physical health projects to people of all ages across West Cumbria.

Janine Ward, from Together We CIC said: "The fundraising is great for us as it means extra money to develop our mental and physical wellbeing courses and deliver our emotional resilience courses across West Cumbria."

The women felt that they would like to raise funds for the charity following the deaths of Laura's sister, Lisa Kelly and David Little amongst others.

The trio also plan to do 7 peaks in 7 days to raise money for Together We CIC in April 2019. This will involve climbing seven fells across the Lake district.
