Staff at a Sellafield contracting firm have been getting into the festive spirit and supporting local charities.
i3 Decommissioning Partners and Altrad Services – the new name for Hertel – decided they would support North Lakes Foodbank and the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal in the run-up to Christmas.
Employees were encouraged to drop off donations at collection points at the firms’ offices in Westlakes Science and Technology Park, near Whitehaven and at Sellafield.
Around 150 presents were donated for Cash for Kids and a Christmas jumper day and quiz, raised £245 for the cause.
Mission Christmas aims to deliver gifts to disadvantaged youngsters in the county, who may not otherwise receive a present this year.
As well as staff brining in donations for North Lakes Foodbank, Nick Beattie, of i3 Decommissioning Partners offered to go on a shopping trip for the team to a local supermarket.
He bought around three trolleys-worth of food for the charity.
