Speedway racer Craig Cook has been snapped up by two British clubs for next season.

Cleator’s Cook rode for Belle Vue Aces in the SGB Premiership last season and joined Glasgow Tigers mid-season in the SGB Championship.

The ex-Workington Comets man's long association with the Aces has now ended as the club elected not to bring him back for another year and Peterborough Panthers have swooped to bring him in for their step up to the top flight.

Peterborough promoter Ged Rathbone said: “I think to get Craig Cook back here shows just what we’ve done as a club over the last few years.

“We worked with him in 2016, he rode for us and he wants to come back - and we’re really looking forward to working with him again. This will be a good move for him.

"He knows the supporters, he’s liked by the supporters and he wants to come here and win. Craig completes a very strong top three.”

The Tigers have also tied down Cook for a full season after impressing in his short spell with the rivals of his former side, Edinburgh.

Speaking after re-signing, Cook said: “When I first came into the team last season, it was a fantastic experience - I said to the guys that I’d never been involved with such a professional club before, and I’ve been made to feel so welcome.

"It’s something that I wanted to do again and, fortunately enough for me, they’ve given me the nod for the 2019 season.”
