A CARLISLE industrial estate is celebrating its latest milestone as it marks the official opening of a multi-million pound development.

More than 150 people will gather on Kingmoor Park for the business event today.

They were due to meeting this morning at Unit N, one of 19 new high-spec units recently been completed thanks to funding from Kingmoor Park Properties Ltd and European Regional Development Funding (ERDF).

Throughout the day guests will hear from speakers including Carlisle MP John Stevenson, Jane Meek Carlisle City Council’s corporate director of economic development and Henri Murison from the Northern Powerhouse.

As Kingmoor Park nears its 20th anniversary in March next year, the theme of the event will be ‘looking to the future’ and how to repeat the same level of success over the next 20 years.

Brian Scowcroft, Kingmoor Park owner and board chairman said: “The event will be a definite milestone for all of us who have played a part in the Kingmoor Park success story.

“Many of these individuals and organisations will be represented on the day from our tenants including one man bands and major household names to stakeholders and members of the public and private sectors.

“Carlisle, like Kingmoor Park, is unrecognisable from the site’s creation nearly 20 years ago but there is still much more we can do to build on that success.

“The speakers on the day will be highlighting the opportunities that the future holds and how we can make them a reality for the economic health of the area.”

Kingmoor Park’s tenants including, Enesco, Cubby Construction, Ascott Transport Limited and Explosive Productions will also be given the opportunity to showcase their products. Lakeland Bake, based on Kingmoor Park for more than 10 years, will be serving their crumpets.
