ROYAL Mail has published its advice to customers wanting to post Christmas cards and presents to arrive by December 25.

The last recommended posting dates for mail across the UK are December 18 for second class mail, December 20 for first class mail and December 22 for special delivery.

Some deadlines for international posting have passed, but there is still time to send mail overseas to selected destinations before the festive period.

Letters and parcels to Canada, Czech Republic, Italy, Poland and the USA can be posted up to Friday, December 14 to arrive in time.

Festive greetings to Finland and Sweden will need to be in the mail by Saturday, December 15.

Next Monday, December 17, is the latest recommended posting date for Christmas mail going to Austria, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland.

Season’s greetings going to Belgium, France, Ireland and Luxembourg will need to be posted no later than Tuesday, December 18.

Royal Mail has confirmed that last posting dates also apply to both standard international services and those which have tracking and signature.
