RAIL passengers have been warned about possible overcrowding on trains in the region tomorrow, Saturday, December 8.
With thousands of Christmas shoppers travelling by train, always busy Saturday services are expected to be even more packed, and the problem is expected to be made much worse by strike action.
Ongoing RMT industrial action means Northern services will stop running at 5pm, meaning the remaining trains run by other operators after this time will be busier than usual.
Passengers are being advised to check before they travel, to plan journeys in advance and to make a note of their last trains home.
