A WEST Cumbrian man was ordered to pay over £1,000 compensation after his dog attacked four people.
Lee Bates, 29, of Moss Bay Road, Workington, was handed a 12-month community order with a requirement to do 70 hours of unpaid work after his Tibetan mastiff Hella attacked four people, injuring one.
The destruction of the dog was also ordered, but Bates has 21 days to appeal this decision.
The dog was reported being dangerously out of control in Moss Bay Road on September 19.
Bates, who appeared at the magistrates court in Workington on Friday, pleaded guilty to the charges.
He was also ordered to pay £85 costs.
