West Cumbria Motorcycle Action Group are ready to fight hunger with a charity tin drive.
MAG will ride from Keswick to Whitehaven, collecting food with a long shelf life in aid of Age UK West Cumbria and Animal Concern.

West Cumbria MAG's Two Tins Christmas Ride-In are taking food and cash donations with the slogan: 'Please help make Christmas a little better for less fortunate people and animals.'
One of the group's charity volunteers, Anne Crayston believes in aiding charities that are often forgotten.

Animal Concern Cumbria care for and re-home abandoned pets, 'The charity is self-funding and is run largely by volunteers.' The charity is running its own appeals in December as Winter is a vital period for the cause.
Age UK West Cumbria support people in later life through community centres, they aid elderly people in a variety of ways including providing computer training and social time.
The MAG are collecting tins for hampers that will be donated to the charities. 'It's a bit of a Christmas event.' Members of the group will join the ride at various points and the public can donate at pit stops.

"We have meeting points throughout the county." Weather permitting, a legion of motorbikes could traverse Cumbria, collecting food for those less fortunate. "If the weather's good, we can get up to 150, 200."

Their journey begins at 11:30 on Sunday at Keswick Central Park before meeting at Cockermouth auction house and moving on to Workington Tesco. From there MAG will take to Maryport, meeting at Greggains or Lidl depending on numbers. The charity drive concludes at Age UK in Whitehaven where they will handover the donated food.

West Cumbria MAG are a branch of a 40 year old organisation. "The MAG is a national organisation that promotes motorcycle events." "It's about promoting people to get on the bikes."
MAG's two tins ride is an annual event, 'We've been doing it since 1992'. Anne is looking ahead to a future of consistent charity work.
"As long as we've still got members we'll keep doing it."
