Champion fibber Mike Naylor has once again been crowned the World's Biggest Liar.
The six-time winner entertained the crowd at the Bridge Inn, Santon Bridge, with his tale about undertaking a three peaks challenge with a twist.
Alongside Will Ritson, whose memory the competition is held in, Mike – aka Monkey Liar – took an action-packed journey up the Matterhorn, the Eiger and Mount Everest.
He was presented with the trophy by Alan Hinkes, a mountaineer who has climbed Everest.
Mike, 62, from Keekle, said: "I struggled this year, I came up with it just two weeks ago – I woke up with the idea.
"I missed a bit, so I'm a little disappointed. It was a short bit, Will had a dog too, a European poodle called Breck. He shouted 'No, Breck, sit'."
Previous winner George Kemp, from Maryport, came second while John Rooney, known as Spartacus, finished third.
A film crew from media company Vice attended the event as part of a project with Visit Britain, with presenter Chuckie Lothian telling his own tale.
