Several parkruns took place over the weekend with hundreds of people running, jogging and walking on Saturday morning.

As well as the commemorations for the 100th anniversary of the end of The Great War, there was also the hundredth Millom parkrun.

This is a magnificent achievement as Millom parkrun is in a very isolated location and heavily reliant on the same ever willing volunteers each weekend.

Race director Colin Benn welcomed the 57 runners and first timers to the park.

David Fulford, of Hoad Hill Runners, finished first with a time of 22.32.

He was followed by Ronald Hummelink and Joasia Zakrzewski in third.

Lucy Gray was the second woman to cross the line in 25.04. And Rachel Read was the third.

Champagne was well received at the end of the race, with a toast was made to the next 100 runs.

There was a superb turnout for Barrow parkrun, with 180 people taking part on a wet course.

Junior runner Olivia Gomersall enjoyed her 100th outing, while Mike Cook completed his 300th parkrun - two tremendous achievements.

Neil Kirkham came finishwith an impressive time of 17:54.

Andrew Dorrian and David Goadby finished second and third respectively.

Walney Wind Cheetah runner Amy Singleton was the first woman to cross the line.

Ford parkrun welcomed 66 runners on Saturday.

Abigail McNicol ran her milestone 10th run this week and has earned her 10 tshirt.

Josh Murphy was this weeks first finisher in 21:02.

James Bailey was second and Finley Corkill took third position in 22:11, a new PB.

Two first-timers stole the show at Fell Foot Parkrun.

Keith Stronach and William Dixon finished first and second respectively during their only outing at the park.

Tim Jones finished third with a new PB.

Megan Lowery was the first woman to cross the line in a time of 21:51.
