Work and apprenticeship opportunities in West Cumbria proved popular as the second Copeland Skills Fair was another success.
The event, which was hosted by Copeland MP Trudy Harrison at Whitehaven’s Solway Hall and sponsored by Morgan Sindall Construction and Infrastructure and National Nuclear Laboratory, gave companies and organisations the chance to promote their opportunities to young people or those looking to retrain.
Mrs Harrison said: “Yesterday’s skills fair was once again a fabulous success with over 30 companies and organisations providing information on more than 100 apprenticeships schemes and training opportunities across Copeland to school leavers and job seekers.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to each of the companies and organisations’ representatives who were all so enthusiastic on their stalls as well as sponsors Morgan Sindall and NNL for their continued support.”
Among those taking part were the Royal Marines, North West Ambulance Service, West Lakes Adventure and Copeland Council.
