A large amount of medication has been stolen from a house in Whitehaven.

It happened during a burglary at a house in Cambridge Road.

Offenders also stole electrical items and a large amount of alcohol.

Police say the suspects are a group of teenagers, aged between 13 and 16.

The burglary happened between 8pm and midnight yesterday.

Damage was also caused within the property.

Police say they are concerned for the welfare of the young offenders due to the nature of the medication stolen.

Officers explained that if a large amount is consumed, it could cause serious harm.

Anyone who is offered prescription medication for sale is urged to contact police immediately.
