A FORMER Eden Valley hotelier is delighted to see her best-selling ebook out in paperback.

The Best Boomerville Hotel, by Caroline James, tells the story of a fictional Lake District hotel.

The romantic comedy about the escapades of guests of a certain age has been described by reviewers as "Cumbria's answer to the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel", the novel and hit film by Deborah Moggach.

Before becoming an author, Caroline ran Appleby's White Hart pub, and in the early 90s she bought Temple Sowerby House hotel.

Although Cumbria is no longer home, she spends as much time here as she can, and she will be holding a meet-and-greet afternoon tea and book signing at boutique hotel The House at Temple Sowerby on Saturday, November 24 at 3pm.

"I've been overwhelmed by the reception it's received and the terrific support," said the author, a member of the Romantic Novelists' Association.

"It goes to show pursuing your dreams, even in middle years – a subject very much at the heart of The Best Boomerville Hotel – is not a thing to fear but a passion to embrace because I’ve found coming out of your comfort zone in midlife and beyond is absolutely brilliant."
