N-DUBZ are performing at Glastonbury on Saturday – and Whitehaven the day after. In a massive coup by Whitehaven Festival Company, the hip hop group have been secured to play on the harbourside on Sunday, June 27.

The award-winning Londoners have had six top 40 hits in the UK Singles Chart including I Need You which got to number five.

The group – Dino ‘Dappy’ Contostavlos, Tula ‘Tulisa’ Contostavlos and Richard ‘Fazer’ Rawson – won MOBO awards last year for Best UK Act, Best Album and the Digital Award.

Festival chief executive Gerard Richardson said: “N-Dubz really are top of the tree at the moment. We always said we would do something for the younger end and we have been planning this for months. Of all the various bands that were available to us, N-Dubz are perhaps the coolest.”

The gig, which starts at 6pm (gates open at 4.30pm) will be in honour of the late PC Bill Barker, of Egremont.

N-Dubz’ first album Uncle B was released on November 17 and debuted at number 11 in the UK Albums Chart.

Their second album Against All Odds debuted at number six.

Singles from that album included I Need You, Playing With Fire and latest single Say It's Over.

As well as Glastonbury, the group has recently enjoyed a sold-out tour and they are playing at T4 On The Beach on July 4 in Weston Super Mare.

Tickets for the gig are £32 – visit www.thefestival.org.uk
