Over 1,000 miles in and Gary McKee's challenge to run 100 marathons in 100 days is on track.
The 47-year-old from Cleator Moor began his charity run on January 14 and will finish on April 23 after raising thousands for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Gary – whose mammoth task is being carried out in memory of his father Victor who would have celebrating his 80th birthday this year – is running every morning for four hours fitting in around his job and family.
He said: "I am taking it a day at a time. I have good support from people running with me and my wife, Susan, has been fantastic.''
Gary, a shift team leader at Sellafield, is currently the top runner across the world on Strava, a social media fitness app.
The father-of-three will finish his challenge, which has so far raised £15,000, by running the London Marathon.
He said: "I hate the recognition that a big challenge brings because I don't do it for recognition, I do it to tell people that they are not fighting cancer alone, that I'm fighting with them.''
