Plans to expand a popular hotel with camping pods and caravan pitches have been given the green light.
Allerdale council's development panel approved plans to build 20 camping pods and 14 caravan pitches in a field behind the Melbreak Hotel, near Great Clifton.
Stuart Woodall, agent speaking on behalf of applicant Ian Hughes, said concerns from neighbours over potential flooding of the site had been addressed.
He said: "We proposed a water drainage scheme which was supported by the local lead flood authority.
"I was here eight years ago to present a very similar scheme, which never progressed further, but this time the plan is just for 20 percent of the original site."
Councillor Billy Miskelly said: "I'm familiar with the area and I think this is an excellent application."
The plans were approved unanimously.
