Police have arrested a man following an incident on Ennerdale Road.
Officers were called at 3.38am today following concern for the welfare of a local man.
A cordon was put in place and officers, including a trained negotiator, were deployed to the scene as the situation was safely managed.
Part of the road closed but has now reopened.
A 34-year-old man, from Cleator Moor, has been arrested on suspicion of committing public order offences.
Police say would like to thank members of the public for their patience and cooperation.
