Rescuers were called to the Cumbrian fells to help a young walker who fell.
Further details of the man have not been given, but he is understood to have been walking down the path below Mickledore when he slipped and fell.
The walker damaged his ribs.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team responded to the emergency call for help, setting off into the Lake District.
A spokesman said: "The Great North Air Ambulance attended and was able to fly the walker to hospital before many of us got on scene."
