Talented student Jessica Dickinson has won a top award for her business acumen.

Jessica, who is doing her A-levels at Keswick School, was honoured by leading county accountancy firm Lamont Pridmore for her achievements in business studies.

She received the firm's GCSE Business Studies Award 2018 at the school’s annual awards ceremony hosted at the school in Vicarage Hill.

Presented by Lamont Pridmore’s senior manager, Philip Pridmore, the annual award recognises the most talented and hard-working business studies student each year.

Her teachers said: “Jessica was very hard working and always focused. She continually worked to a high standard and always acted upon advice given.”

The school said that Jessica showed a keen interest in business throughout the course and has continued to study business at A-level.

Mr Pridmore said:“On behalf of everyone at Lamont Pridmore I would like to congratulate Jessica on her success in her business studies course.

“Everyone I spoke to at Keswick School held her in high regard and it is obvious that she has been a very contentious and diligent student during her time at the school. I would like to wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”

Lamont Pridmore has sponsored the award at Keswick School for five years and said it was proud of its association with local schools.

Les Walker, managing director at Lamont Pridmore’s Workington office, said: “We are very proud of our long association with Keswick School, and other educational institutions throughout the county.

“Recognising and promoting young business talent is key to the future of our region."
