A 14-year-old Cockermouth girl will be releasing her debut single on Friday.

Maddie Rose Wylie has written Good Days, which has been recorded through Soundwaves, a Workington-based charitable music organisation.

She will be performing at Keekle Village Hall, Cleator Moor, on Friday, supporting The Maverick.

Maddie Rose, who goes to Keswick School and is a member of Soundwave, said: "I have been singing since I was four.

"I wanted to write something that people could relate to, so wrote Good Days.

"I feel really lucky that I had this opportunity and am so grateful to Soundwave for their support."

Maddie Rose will be sharing the stage with headlining Paul Cameron, otherwise known as The Maverick. His style is reminiscent of rockabilly acts such as Elvis Presley; Buddy Holly and Johnny Cash. He plays modern hits as well as fifties classics.

Maddie Rose will be playing her guitar and singing. She says she is inspired by various artists, including Lorde, Ariana Grande and Sia.

Leanna Thomson, 17, of Workington, will also be playing the piano and guitar and singing.

Doors open at 7pm. Tickets cost £5 and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
