Story Homes is celebrating the forthcoming festive season by decking out its show home at Hawthorn Grange, Seaton, with a giant red bow.
The company’s interior design expert Suzy Webster has also shared her top five tips for how to dress your own home this Christmas:
1. Keep it simple: It is better to have some key pieces rather than lots of decorations to distract the eye. Don’t be afraid of unique or quirky.
2. Think in layers: Use objects with different heights to create interest. A beautiful garland makes a fabulous centrepiece on the mantle.
3. Go natural: Bring your decoration to life with inspiration from nature. Fresh evergreen garlands and wreaths will give your home a wonderful natural look and fragrance.
4. Dust fruit with glitter: Fake an icy frost with this wintry recipe - mix three parts white glitter to one part silver, then coat faux pears, limes and grapes for a sparkly centrepiece.
5. Display treats for visitors: Having Christmas treats out for guests, such as nuts, mince pies and chocolates, gives your home a warm and welcoming feel.
