Environment Agency Water Resources Act 1991 (as amended by the Water Act 2003) Notice of application for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water. Timothy Scoble has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency Is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006. The application Is for a licence to abstract water from the River Crake at National Grid Reference (NGR) SD 29371 88394 to transfer it back to the River Crake at NGR SD 29444 88285 without intervening use. The application is to abstract water as follows: 3,600 cubic metres an hour, 86,400 cubic metres a day, 13,000,000 cubic metres a year, at an instantaneous rate not exceeding 1,000 litres per second. Abstraction will take place all year. The proposed abstraction is within the Crake Catchment and the South Cumbria abstraction licensing strategy area. All water abstracted would be returned to the river approximately 150 metres downstream of the abstraction point.
