(VARIOUS ROADS IN THE SOUTH LAKELAND AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION)
(NO.2) ORDER 2020
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out surface dressing works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.
Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order. The contractor will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
I. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2.  Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3.  Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
4.  Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or email TTRO.South@cumbria.gov.uk quoting the reference SL20/15. The Order will come into operation on 18 May 2020 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 4 months in total only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

SCHEDULE EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
I. A5084 Water Yeat -Approx. duration I day
From a point approx. 3.5km south of its junction with the A593 extending in a southerly direction for approx. 2km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A5084, A593, A593 Yewdale Road and Rothay Road (north bound), A5075 Borrans Road, A59 I, A59 I Ambleside Road, A592, A592 Lake Road and Promenade, A590 and the A5092.
2.  A65 near Kendal -Approx. duration I day
From its junction with the U566 I extending in a north westerly then northerly direction for approx. 2.3km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the A65, A65 Burton Road, A6 Romney Road, Milnthorpe Road and Shenstone Roundabout, A59 I, A590 and the A65 Main Street.
3.  A65 near Lupton -Approx. duration I evening
From a point approx. 3.1 km south east of its junction with the A6070 extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 1.9km. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A65, A65 Main Street, Burton Road, Lound Road, Aynam Road and New Road, A6 Kirkland (southbound) and Highgate), A65 Lowther Street (south bound), Kent Street, Blackhall Road, Sandes Avenue, Station Road, Stramongate, Castle Street, Ann Street, Wildman Street, Sedbergh Road, Castle Green Road, Singleton Park Road, Scotch Jeans, Station Road, the A683, A65 Bentinck Drive and the A65.
4.  A6 Beetham - Approx. duration I day
From a point approx. I .7km south of its junction with the B6385 Main Street, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 1.41km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A6, A6070, A6070 Main Street and Boom Walks, B6384 Burton Road and Milnthorpe, B6385 Main Street and A6 Beetham Road.
5.  A684 near Sedbergh - Approx. duration I day
From a point approx. 330m south east of its junction with the A684 Long Lane, extending in south easterly direction for approx. 2.4km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A684, B62S9, B6259 Nateby Road, A685 High Street, South Road and Wiseber Brow, A683 Egdale Lane, Crosshaw Brow and Long Lane.
